presented at his Yamin by Yons down Kong fong, a relative of the deceased, all of which were forwarded to Her Majesty's Consul for communication to the Governor of Hongkong, with a request that it's Excellency might be moved to have inquiries instituted and instructions issued for the arrest (of the criminals Yong at large) and might hand over Pak-mo-kum and the other 12 criminals to Lieutenant Li ping t'ai for conveyance to Fanton for trial and punishment.
On the receipt of the petition above alluded to, it is the Viceroy's duty to communicate the facts to Her Majesty's Consul and beg him to move It's Excellency the Governor of Hongkong to issue such instructions for the arrest of the criminal as the circumstances may show to be necessary, and further to hand over Pak-mo-kum and the others in custody, to Lieutenant Li Ping t'ai for the purpose above indicated.
As it is to be employed heretofore and trial.
